Books: As far as I'm concerned, Douglas Adams was the greatest writer who ever lived. I also love David Eddings, Agatha Christie, Orson Scott Card, and pretty much everything else that doesn't upset the ol' PTSD. I'm a voracious reader.

Movies: I'm a huge fan of The Red Green Show, anything Rowan Atkinson has ever been involved in, same goes for Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn (most talented woman ever!), and Hugh Laurie (yes, even before Americans came to know him as House)! I love British comedy because it's so much less ugly and snarky than American comedy can be at times. It never upsets my PTSD, and its so much more stimulating as opposed to mind numbing as most American television seems to be. I have no tolerance for reality TV. I don't even get shows, I just watch boxed sets I've purchased. I also love cartoons, such as SpongeBob SquarePants -- however the fifth season was a real disappointment. That Ren and Stimpy-inspired style of cartooning is seeping into everything on TV and along with it comes crummy writing. I guess I'm just old.

Music: I love country -- mostly stuff from the 80's and 90's before the world was cast into darkness with the release of Honky tonk bedonkey donk. Save us all. I really love pretty much everything, to be honest, excluding most hardcore rap, all reggae, anything the Grateful Dead or the Talking Heads have touched, and most Bob Dylan. This is probably directly related to my last job at a hippie bead store, wherein I was submerged in long-haired Bob music for extended periods of time. There should be some kind of warning or contraindication on those albums: Danger, do not listen to if you are easily annoyed by hippies. Or something.

Hobbies: I love to knit, crochet, sing, paint (oils), be crafty in general, talk, and learn about anything biology- or medicine-related!

I had WLS on August 14th. I'm a 23-year-old married college student. I'm pre-med (biology with chem minor and pre med emphasis). I've been married over two years now and I couldn't be happier. I love thunderstorms and singing more than anything in the world. And I'm always looking for new friends, so feel free to contact me. Thanks! My Obesity Help screen name is streetflutter

I had my chem lab final today, and it's my first day of the pre-surgery diet. Kind of tough, but I'm hanging in there!
