Aug 21, 2008 - As someone who has splattered food all over my stove trying to toss like the TV chefs when I add sauce just before serving, the extra height may save some clean-up. Aug 21, 2008 - This is unbelievably stupid. Yes, sometimes you have to toss a dish, but EXCLUSIVELY???? every time you lift the pan and toss it, you are taking the pan away from heat and then THROWING the food into the air cooling it off, the pasta will cook slower and you will lose sauce to evaporation alot of times.Use a spatula or wooden spoon lazy people. Tossing looks cool but the food isn't better for it.
