Jul 7, 2008 - Wasn't that White Ligntning McDonald there? Thanks a bunch for yet another outstanding post!
NellsStuff Says:
Jul 12, 2008 - Yup, it's Michael McDonald! Doesn't hit the notes as high now!! Ever notice Fagen looks rather "Ray Charlesy" these days?

Jul 15, 2008 - Who is the featured guitarist here? Good stuff!I love Steely Dan; but, the saddest thing about them was their willingness to use Michael McDonald. Yuch.
hgk335 Says:
Jul 18, 2008 - Jon Herington.
ChrisC1 Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - I totally agree. All he can do is re-makes. His style gets old quick.

Jul 30, 2008 - don't bash Mike...he has an amazing voice. of course he sounds much better in the studio recording of this song.
MarkLipka Says:
Jul 30, 2008 - Yes. Of course. To you McDonald is a sacred cow and no one can tell the truth as they see it regarding his lameness. The funniest thing I've heard from him recently is his Xmas album. You GOTTA hear this thing. A tired retread of old Xmas standards with that certain McDonald stink all over them. "Fur-la-lur-la-lurrr-la-lrr-lr-lr!"It's some of the best unintentional comedy ever. We laugh hard when we hear it.

Jul 31, 2008 - If you want to critique an artist, why don't you do it with some intelligence. "Sacred cow"...what the hell does that even mean?
MarkLipka Says:
Aug 4, 2008 - This is great comedy that rarely happens in real life and is written frequently in sit-coms. Someone calls someone else dumb and immediately turns around and demonstrates their own lack of knowledge. Got a good laugh. Here is the definition of sacred cow from the online dictionary:an individual, organization, institution, etc., considered to be exempt from criticism or questioning.
alaincharnier1971 Says:
Aug 11, 2008 - his vocal accuracy is incredible, 4 part harmony w/vibrato on the original recording, but yeah his solo stuff is way lame.
stevieVantanna Says:
Aug 23, 2008 - Donald Fagen drinks Coca-Cola...shouldn't YOU drink Coca-Cola.
stevieVantanna Says:
Aug 23, 2008 - that guitar player is on a different planet than 99.9% of all other guitar players.
blackeyedsiouxsie Says:
Aug 28, 2008 - I saw this particular show with Michael McDonald. The guy I was with and I just laughed at the cheesy Michael McDonald opening set. It's not awesome music like Steely Dan but it does have a comical value to it.
Baudolino6135 Says:
Oct 3, 2008 - so the other day, my guitarist comes to my apartment to offload 264 bottles of various iterations of Pepsi. As a Coca-Cola drinker, it was one of the most underwhelming moments of my life.
