Apr 5, 2008 - I am so glad you didn't give in to the pizza! White flour=bad Hey and on the ketone strips--some people lose weight just fine without them ever changing colors. So don't lose heart, dear! It could be just having more water in your system and less concentrated urine--ew, I know, but true. :)

Apr 5, 2008 - I totally agree with the water comment. I realize that during the first couple of weeks of the diet....I was doing everything right, then I was negative. I plan on doing a video about them. Plus, throw up a disclosure on how several factors could come in and screw everything up.Thanks for watching!!

Apr 7, 2008 - Hey, i like the videos, theyre inspiring but my mom and i are both doing the atkins and, what happens is i get into the deep zone on the ketosis strips and my mom just tells me to eat salads because its too deep, is this true because i want to lose all the weight i can you know? -thanks ryan

Apr 7, 2008 - Well, please keep in mind that Ketonsis strips are a guide. I follow the diet very closely and sometimes, I will come out negative. Its true. I drink over 64 oz of water a day. Alot of it is at night. So, for me I wait until the 2nd call of nature to get a the best score. Too dark of purple could mean you are not getting enough water. Try to stay in the butter zone (Dark Pink to lite Purple). Salads shouldn't do anything... except add more carbs to your diet. Many factors apply to these strips.

Apr 7, 2008 - The fact that it changes color at all, means that you are in Ketosis! Period. That is all you need to know. I can not stress enough that you need to read Dr. Atkin's Book. It talks about the strips. If you stick to the diet. AND EXERCISE!! Then, you really will start to see a difference. I hope you and your Mom the best of luck with the diet. Any other questions, go ahead and ask OR read the Atkin's Book. It is our manual to a much happier life!
