Dec 3, 2008 - it makes perfect sense in black liberation theology to label the man who will reconcile the nation and heal the divides (or, demonstrate that America isn't racist by being elected by white people) as the "messiah." He is, in the BLT ideology, the fulfillment of justice and restoration for the black community. I have doubts that much will change in the lives of Obama's supporters simply because he is elected- all other things being equal.
