Another one of my favorite Daiei Teen Soap-Opera dramas of the 80s (the title can be read - Never Look Back (Lit. Don't Turn Your Ponytail). This one starred lanky idol Ito Kazue. It was great seeing her in her short mini skirts, hotpants and jeans cutoffs which showed off her long legs. It was also fun seeing her get into all those fights using her wooden drum sticks as weapons. Ito starred in two other Daiei TV Dramas - "School Wars" and "Furyo Shojo Ni Yobarete". Story:Aso Miki (Ito Kazue) has had a rough life. Her mother died while she was only a baby and she was raised by her jazz drummer and musician father (Frankie Sakai)in the U.S. Naval Base Town of Yokosuka, Japan. She got into a lot of trouble as a kid and was eventually sent to juvenile detention after killing four Yakuza underlings during one of her Sukeban gang fights. After a year, on her 18th birthday, she was released but sadly found out that her father had died while she was serving time. He had left her his prized jazz drum set and now Miki has vowed to set her life straight and become a drummer musician like her father. She sets out to form her own rock house band but finds many hardships in finding young musicians to join the band. Yet slowly her talents shine through and others soon join her including failed professional keyboard musician and rebel Tamura Akira (Matsumura Yuuki) and playboy elite Medical School student Nagura Kunio (Tsurumi Shingo). Jan 8, 2009 - 自分が高校生のとき、毎週欠かさず見ていました。伊藤かずえさんの体を張った演技もさることながら、共演の方たちも、すばらしい演技で、唸るものがありました。あれから早くも23年経過しましたが、あのときの感動は今でも新鮮に感じています。もう一度、見たくなって来ました。

Jan 8, 2009 - もう一度never say good bye の部分で名古屋章の運転するトラックが自爆する、これがいきなり第一話辺りだった。ケント扮する米軍将校の婚約者(ケイティ)とピアニスト松村雄喜は不倫。比企理恵はたしか途中で死んじゃったはず。大映シリーズは熱いね！
